For presenting health issues, on average (of hundreds of Woof Creek dog clients) and for our own 2 standard poodle pups, we have seen and had reports of visible, pivotal improvement within 3-6 weeks across both of our powdered and oil toppers. We have also received feedback from a dozen pawrents stating faster results, 3 days to 1 week, for drastic improvement, though that is not the average.

After the presenting issue seems resolved, we slowly titrate down over a few months to a half-dose regimen to maintain the essential superfood nutrients in the pups' blood stream.

Store at room temperature.

Our natural Flea + Tick Defense products are part of a chemical-free proactive routine for the standard domesticated dog's lifestyle. • Max & Molly Soundshield Ultrasonic (device emits ultrasonic sound waves that are inaudible to humans and dogs, but irritate the nervous system of pests, deterring them from staying on and hanging around your pet: BUT reading the reviews, it may be ineffective for the larger properties/higher-pest-risk scenarios, and it also has a green blinking light that may scare the pups.)
• Treat the perimeter of your home and yard with food-grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE)
• Beneficial Nematodes for yard.

While doing the above actions:

We know this is a great deal of information, but the natural path is multi-leveled, but well worth it.

When we take into account the numerous variables of diet, age, etc. and the following lifestyle buckets: gut health; immunity health; physical, emotional, and environmental facets, as well, it is harder to give a one-size-fits all answer to this question.

This topper builds up in the pup's blood stream and then the scent exudes from the skin (especially sensative to pests, but not to humans). On average, it takes a few days (it may take shorter or longer for some...) and then the repellant scent deters fleas, ticks, mosquots for the dog that lives a standard, domesticated urban or suburban lifestyle. Higher risk areas and longer durations or constant exposure to a greater density of fleas, ticks, and mosquitos will most likely need more than just this natural whole food topper.

It isn't uncommon for dogs to dislike the spraying sound and misting of a spray; the insect-replellant scent may be bothersome to them, too. While the scent may be of issue, it is of course necessary to deter insects, and it is formulated to be the most subtle possible. But the spraying sound and sensation can be managed by first putting the Flea + Tick Defense Spray on your hands and massaging it into the pup's coat, which makes for a more thorough application anyway. If the pup rolls in the grass or rubs against items to attempt to remove the scent from his or her coat, it will already be in the skin so remains effective.

After the initial titration period, yes, absolutely. For the titration period (the first 3-5 days) do keep to breakfast only so any adaptation displays (ie stool changes) can be observed and handled by parent during waking hours 😉.

So, the general short answer: The Essential Flea + Tick Defense Meal Topper is safe to use all year round (as is needed where we live in Florida) but can be adjusted for seasonality, especially in snowy winter months.

We base the following, more detailed answer on a pup's time to digest from 4-10 hours (depending on diet type, etc.): The topper creating the skin's bug-repellant scent will take a day or so to exude through the skin. The topper also has skin health enhancing properties, which also takes some time to work. 

Those points said, we suggest that the topper can be used at half dose to maintain levels in their blood stream during stretches of time that you have the pup inside (other than short potty walks) and/or during cooler temperatures when flea and tick activity will undoubtedly be low to nil.

For our Original Screw-Top Tins: If the lid of your tin was closed without lining up the threads and/or if powder residue built up along the threads, sometimes the lid can be difficult to reopen. A quick, hard pat with your hand can realign the threads, or, if more force is needed, cover the lid with a towel and lightly pound the tin/lid with a rubber mallet to realign the threads.

To prevent further issue, keep the threads inside the lid and on the outside of the tin free from the powder with  a dry towel, and reseal the tin and lid slowly and carefully, to be sure the threads are properly aligned when spinning the lid shut.

The labels of our Omega-3 Fish Oils are waterproof, making it easy to lightly rinse the bottle off with warm soapy bottle from your sink tap (with cap closed) or with a damp, soapy cloth or sponge.

For prevention of chronic and common ailments for our dogs, we suggest half of the dose shown on our Meal Topper labels. Use the full listed dosage if an ailment is presenting in full force.

For presenting health issues, on average (of hundreds of Woof Creek dog clients) and for our own 2 standard poodle pups, we have seen and had reports of visible, pivotal improvement within 3-6 weeks across both of our powdered and oil toppers. We have also received feedback from a dozen pawrents stating faster results, 3 days to 1 week, for drastic improvement, though that is not the average.

After the presenting issue seems resolved, we slowly titrate down over a few months to a half-dose regimen to maintain the essential superfood nutrients in the pups' blood stream.
